Flowers and Tattoos

What a glorious break from the banality of studying (silly to put those words together!)!

Today I walked to the Capitol for the Saturday Farmers' Market and met up with a friend from my hometown and her housemates.  We walked around admiring all of the fruits and vegetables and FLOWERS! for sale.  I bought a small bouquet for 3 dollars. Then decided today would be a great day to get my promise tattoo for mom.  And I did!  I walked with my friend back to her neighborhood and found a small tattoo parlor.  As luck would have it, someone changed their mind right at I had walked in so I was able to get my tattoo done within 30 minutes of arriving.  SPONDEO means I promise or I pledge myself in Latin.  I got it on the inner side of my left forearm.

While I was waiting for my tattoo artist to prep his station, my friend went to get some Thai iced tea and spring rolls.  So we walked back to her place admiring the beautiful foliage in the area sipping sweet Thai tea. I love her neighborhood!  So much better than where I am now.  It was a spiritual indulgence being there and I plan to go there way more often.

I need to study some muscles of the shoulder and arm. yum!
